Beliefs

What are our church beliefs?

We believe:
  • The Bible is the divinely inspired word of God, and this is the final authority for the Church in our world today.
  • Except a man be born of the water and of the Spirit (according to the scriptures), he cannot see the kingdom of God, or enter into the kingdom of God (John 3 verses 3 and 5)
  • Death, burial and resurrection of Jesus Christ (1 Corinthians: 15 verses 3 - 4)
Death: Repentance
  • Repentance of all sins according to the scriptures (Acts 2 verse 38)
Burial: Baptism
  • Baptism in the name of the Lord Jesus Christ for the remission of our sins (Acts 2 verse 38)
  • "Therefore we are "buried" with him by "baptism" into his death." (Romans 6 verse 4)
Resurrection: Baptism of the Holy Ghost
  • Baptism of the Holy Ghost with the evidence of speaking in other tongues, according to the Scriptures (Acts 2 verse 4, 38) and (10 verse 45-46)
  • "But if the spirit of him that raised up Jesus from the dead dwell in you... He that raised up Christ from the dead shall also quicken your mortal bodies by his spirit that dwelleth in you." (Romans 8 verse 11)
  • "Like as Christ was raised up from the dead by the glory of the Father, even so we also should walk in newness of life." (Romans 6 verse 4)

Call to live a holy life

At King's Chapel Apostolic Church in Coventry, we believe that: We should live a holy life according to the scriptures; this is our reasonable service. "I beseech you therefore brethren by the mercies of God, that ye present your bodies a living sacrifice, holy, acceptable unto God, which is your reasonable service." (Romans 12 verse 1)

Holiness is separation unto God and separation from (sin) the world, not isolation. We are in the world but not of the world, therefore we should not be influenced by the world - "Love not the world neither the things of the world, for if anyone love the world the love of the father is not in him." (1 John: 2 verse 15)

"But as he which hath called you is holy, so be ye holy in all manner of conversation. Because it is written, be ye holy; for I am holy." (1 Peter 1 verses 15 – 16)
We should live a holy life according to the scriptures; this is our reasonable service
